Blast from the Past
Season 2 Episode 5

Wallace comes in and asks his mother about Nathan Woods. She explains that he started out as a narcotics officer who went too deep undercover. Alicia goes to get Wallace’s records but they are missing. In class, Veronica nominates Wallace to homecoming court. In another classroom, a student named Douglas nominates Veronica. Cora and Jackie talk about the dance, when they sit down with Wallace, he gets up to talk to Veronica about his dad. When Jackie shows up, they get quiet, which infuriates her who walks away. Veronica arrives at Mars Investigation and discusses her dad’s 12 pt lead in the sheriff race with him. Jackie is seeing a psychic and her card is declined. The next day at school Jackie asks Veronica for help.

Jackie explains that her card was stolen and returned. Jackie wants Veronica to prove that Cora did not steal her card. Veronica accepts the case. Alicia comes to Mars Investigation for her personal documents. Keith gives her parenting advice and she lashes out at him about Veronica. Nathan goes to Wallace’s job. Wallace sings “Poppa was a rolling stone” and Nathan explains searching for him and gives him letters he tried to send. At school, the nominations are announced and Wallace is nominated. Veronica runs into Cora in the hall, gets her to invites Veronica to go shopping. Duncan and Logan plan a man date to mend some broken fences with a HOT SHOT GOLF tourney. Veronica gives Jackie an update on the case. Lamb and Keith are having a debate, where Lamb drops the bombshell that Keith stop Ed for drunk driving, but instead of giving him a DUI, he gave him a warning and followed him home. If Keith had given him a DUI, he would never be able to get a job driving buses.

Veronica gets Cora to let her use one of her shirts; in her closet, Veronica finds her uniform from “Boyo Pollo”. Back from shopping, Veronica confirms Cora’s work hours at “Boyo Pollo.” At Duncan, he and Veronica make out and discuss him not having invited her to the dance. She convinces Duncan to give her Kane Software Stationary. Veronica finds out Keith has lost his lead. Wallace confronts his mother with the letters and her lying about Nathan being a sociopath. At school, Veronica and Wallace discuss his father. She tells him that the one that stays with you cares. Sheriff Lamb receives a letter and a glass encase bug wishing him luck with his re-election. Veronica goes to investigate Consolidated Elemental Industries and finds it is the psychics and finds 500 dollars worth of candles.

Jackie tells Veronica about seeing Madame Sophie and Veronica tells her about ordering Mammo-Max breast enhancement crème she as a freshman. Jackie comes up with a plan to get back at Madame Sophie. They watch her cable access show, when Terrence Cooke tells them about Lamb wanting him to emcee the bachelor auction. Back home Veronica listens to the recording from the bug she sent to Lamb’s office. Lamb coerces Terrence Cook to emcee the bachelor’s auction by hinting at him shaving points. Veronica goes to see Michelle, the girl on Madame Sophie’s show, whose friend was on the bus, Rhonda. Michelle lets Veronica hear the messages from Rhonda and she sends herself the message. Duncan and Logan get together and play HSG. Veronica sets up Madame Sophie and as the interview goes on Madame Sophie says someone named Lilly that told her to tell Veronica she should have stayed away from her boyfriend.

Madame Sophie then reveals Veronica Mammo-Max secret. Veronica makes a copy of the Lamb/Cooke conversation and labels it ‘Homecoming Request’. She calls Duncan to find out who is dee-jaying between sets. Wallace comes to see if Veronica is ok. Veronica tells him that it was Jackie and Wallace asks her not to retaliate and she tells him no. He asks her to understand where he’s coming from and It is her world and he just lives in it. Wallace calls Jackie and she confesses to what Veronica. Wallace tells her that he is not going to the dance with her. Veronica plays the recording of the crash for her dad. They recognize an explosion in the background. Duncan comes to take Veronica to the Dance and she reconsiders the Lamb/Cooke recording. ‘The Faders’ are playing the dance. Jackie is heavily intoxicated, when Veronica confronts her throwing herself at Logan. Their argument is witness by Wallace, who leaves. At the sheriff’s office, Keith gives Lamb a copy of the recording, tells him to send it to the sound department, and removes the bug Veronica send. Later that night a sleeping Keith gets a call for Alicia asking if Wallace was there. In the morning, Keith comes home and asks Veronica if she has seen Wallace. Wallace ignores Veronica’s call as he is leaving Neptune with his father.
